I attended the New Orleans Comic Con “Drink & Draw” Competition Saturday night, January 28, 2012. My first ever, the event was hosted by the very talented (and gracious) Tommy Castillo. After providing us with pizza and booze, Mr. Castillo gave each attendee his / her own assignment. Mine was to draw “The Invisible Man and The Blob playing chess in a summer storm… and The Blob is cheating.”

After several drinks and socializing with fellow attendees Bill, Pete and Travis, I was thrilled to discover that my sketch was judged First Place!

Following is the original sketch that won.  The image was so much fun to draw, I spent some time at home afterward re-working the sketch into a color version.
